Atlanta-based Mateo is a multi-faceted artist, skilled as an actor, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from The University of Memphis, he has made a mark in the theatre world, performing professionally at several regional theatres across the United States. His impressive acting credits include roles such as Nigel Bottom in "Something Rotten!", Jacob in "La Cage Aux Folles", and Thalia in "Xanadu".

Beyond the spotlight, Mateo is equally passionate about sharing his love for music through education. A part of the teaching faculty at MKS, Mateo extends his expertise to inspire both young learners and adults, providing them with lessons in piano, guitar, and cello.

His musical palate is diverse and encompasses various genres such as Musical Theatre, Classical, Folk, and Jazz. Mateo believes that every song carries its own narrative, whether expressed through lyrics, instrumental melodies, or non-verbal cues. This belief is the cornerstone of his teaching philosophy.

Mateo is dedicated to helping his students master the technical elements of singing while also discovering innovative and emotionally resonant ways to express themselves through music. His ultimate aim is to enable his students to blend technical proficiency with creative expression, so they can tell their unique musical stories effectively.
