Lizzie Markson

She/They

Acting + Audition

Lizzie Markson (she/they) is a working actor based in New York City with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music Theatre from Elon University. Lizzie’s career has taken her from her roots in Allentown, Pennsylvania to performing experiences all over the globe. Some highlights include playing Natalie in “Next to Normal,” Sophie in the “Mamma Mia!” Farewell National Tour, Anybodys in “West Side Story” at the IHI Stage Around Tokyo, Japan, as well as performing contracts at Mill Mountain Theatre and Cortland Repertory Theatre. In New York City, she is a member of Thistle Dance Company and continues to study her craft so that she may bring fresh industry insights and updated technical learnings into each lesson she teaches.

As a teacher, Lizzie finds nothing more fulfilling than sharing her love of singing and acting with curious, heart-centered students who are yearning to share their art. She uses various tools from her extensive training (including pop/rock vocal styles, Meisner, Laban, Viewpoints, and mindfulness) to help each student go from feeling “in their head” while they perform to feeling free, rooted in truth, and fully in their body. Her lessons are a collaborative, warm, and playful space where she focuses on the student at hand to develop healthy, sustainable technique. In lessons with Lizzie, she encourages you to show up exactly as you are. She helps you experiment with curiosity and take risks, so you can grow beyond your limits and unleash what makes your artistry and your voice one of a kind.

To remind you she’s a human outside of performing and teaching, Lizzie enjoys hugging trees, practicing Yoga (she’s a 200hr RYT), writing poetry, prose, and music, running, reading, crafting, being cozy, and laughing as much as possible (don’t worry, she cries a healthy amount too. Balance.) Lizzie’s ultimate goal is to help you fall deeper in love with the joy of singing and storytelling, and to guide you closer to trusting yourself and your voice. She can’t wait to support you in the totality of your unique journey (ups and downs alike) and in all of your performances – whether you’re singing and acting for an audience of one or an audience of thousands.
